Bruce Webber’s passion for flying began at a young age, with a discovery flight. Bruce is an experienced aviator with 45 years of flying and has logged over 23,000 flight hours. In his pursuit of a career in aviation, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Flight Technology and an A&P (Air Frame & Powerplant Mechanic) License in 1981 from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. He also served in the United States Navy as Maintenance Officer and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In 1987 he became the Corporate Chief Pilot for All-Phase Electric Supply Company in Benton Harbor Michigan, where he flew a Cheyenne IIXL, a Super King Air 300 and a Westwind IA Jet. In 2000 he went to Raytheon Travel Air in Wichita, KS where he flew the Hawker 800XP. In May 2001 he became an airline pilot for JetBlue Airways in New York City, NY. While there he flew for nearly 19 years, flying the Airbus 320, 321 and 321 Neo. Then, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Captain Webber is currently on VPLOA (Voluntary Permanent Leave of Absence) status until his official retirement on his 65th birthday in April 2022. Recognized as an Aviation career professional, Captain Webber has been teaching high school students in Aviation and Aviation Mechanics at the Karnes City Independent School District (KCISD) in Karnes City, Texas. In the Aviation Mechanics Lab, he is supervising students building a
Vans Aircraft RV-12.
Bruce also enjoys recreational flying. He has time in the Cessna 152, Cessna 172XP, Cessna 140, Beech Bonanza, Piper Aztec, Beech Baron 58, Cessna 310R, Aerostar 601P, Navajo Chieftain, and Piper Warrior II. Throughout his career he has also refurbished or rebuilt various types of aircraft including the Cessna 140, Piper J3, Piper J5, Piper Vagabond, Piper Tri-Pacer, and a Taylor Craft. Currently, he is building a
Van’s Aircraft RV-10 in his home workshop.

Born in Munich - Germany, Matthew started his aviation career at the International Airport in Munich as a baggage dispatcher. From there he moved to Troutdale Oregon at the age of 24 and received both his ME/SE commercial as well as his CFI/CFII Instructor license. He then moved to central Texas and worked as a Flight Instructor at the Aviation Academy of America in Hondo then New Braunfels for 2 years. Looking for new challenges he then chose to join TSWA and operates there as a full time Instructor.
Our training aircraft, the Piper Warrior II, is equipped with a Garmin 500 TXI and GTN 650 as well as a G-5 which in turn is connected to a GFC 500 Autopilot. The aircraft has been maintained to an exceptional state featuring a newly overhauled engine.
Our flight school is located at Stetson Aviation, The FBO of Kenedy. The recent project of Stetson Aviation led to a complete repavement of the runway surface as well as installation of taxiway lights, a new LED rotating beacon and numerous other features. The personal ground school instruction will be held in our office and can be delivered in a one-on-one or small group session. In these ground sessions entire topics can be covered in depth or student questions can be answered in detail. Important for your exam preparation is a broad instructor oral knowledge test that verifies you know the required subjects and are well prepared to the meet the test standards with confidence.
The Gleim Virtual Cockpit BATD is an approved FAA flight training device. It supplies a structured and inexpensive path to build up the understanding and proficiency of the required maneuvers and emergency procedures. Gleim supplies a complete curriculum from beginning to completion with tutorial videos and fully evaluated lessons on its simulator which can be flown before or after gaining a real hands on experience in the aircraft.
In the airport Lobby you can relax from your training and have conversations with already accomplished pilots
The Kitchen is available to our students which allows you to bring your own prepared meals or favorite snacks and keep them fresh in the fridge. We would just ask of you to keep it clean.

Kenedy is a small town in the South Central part of Texas. It offers a newly renovated park and walking trail to the rolling hills that come alive in the spring with beautiful displays of wildflowers. It also has all the amenities you would expect from an urban area starting with local supermarkets (HEB,Walmart) to Mexican, traditional American and Italian restaurants as well as a gym, bars, beauty salons and more. The weather in Kenedy, Texas has mostly clear weather all year round and provides a high availability time for training.
